In 1985, Drs. Rama Rao (R) and Krishna Murty (K), returning from their service as specialists in Algeria, founded RK Hospital in Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam. Their goal was to provide modern medical care at affordable rates, pioneering the regions first private multi-specialty center. In 1993, the hospital expanded to a 30-bed facility designed by PADGRO Consultants, Chennai, setting a benchmark for similar-sized hospitals. In 1999, RK Hospital partnered with CARE HOSPITALS to introduce comprehensive cardiology and super-specialty services to Visakhapatnam and neighboring regions. Recognizing the need for advanced medical facilities in the industrial belt, the hospital underwent further expansion in 2013, becoming a 50-bed Super-specialty center offering services across major disciplines, excluding interventional cardiology and CT surgery.
