Job Description
We areseeking an experienced Product Owner to support multiple projects andinitiatives on the Workplace Support Services (WSS) Automation team. The idealcandidate must be a visionary and leader for the team. Someone who will identify potential automationopportunities, gather requirements from stakeholders, measure benefits and helpturn vision into reality. Thisindividual will demonstrate knowledge and experience in Agile principles. As Product Owner, you will gather featurerequests, schedule releases and coordinate sprints. You should be able toidentify user needs, help a customer understand a business value and work withcross-functional teams to manage product releases. Someone who is trulycustomer obsessed and dedicated, while looking for opportunities to innovateand take thoughtful risk in order to get things done better and faster.
JobFunctions/Duties and Responsibilities:
- Convey the team vision,goals and provide direction. Defineoverall product strategy and direction. Act as a decision maker while empowering the squad.
- Define and communicatecustomer needs. Engage proactively withcustomers to better understand their needs. Represent the customer s voice to help the squad members with real-time feedbackfrom customers and their stakeholders
- The candidate will workwith Infrastructure team, development teams, other support teams, and driveefficient planning and execution.
- Engage with internal andexternal stakeholders. Ensureorganizational alignment of the squad s mission and activities. Remove blockersthat prevent progress.
- Support and enable thesquad. Regularly engage with the squadto offer feedback on work in progress, clarify requirements and answerquestions.
- Maintain and prioritizebacklog. Refine backlog to ensure squadhas the right direction to deliver business value consistently
- Prioritize work through awell-groomed backlog of user stories and clearly communicate what needs to bedone and by when. Define and communicateacceptance criteria based on business & customer needs
- Promote Agile working style. Foster a culture of continuous learning anddevelopment
- Participate in Agileceremonies. Daily standups,Retrospectives
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies.Backlog refinement, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review/Demo
SkillsRequired:
- The ideal candidate forthis position will have at least 12 years of program and project managementexperience with an ability to think tactically as well as strategically whilecoordinating cross functional teams in a matrixed environment.
- 3-5 years serving as an AgileProduct Owner within high performing, cross functional teams.
- Collaboration acrosstechnology organization, providing sound business analysis, process and changeleadership within a maturing, Agile PDLC framework
- Individual with high-levelperspective to define goals and create a vision for development projects.
- Demonstrated capabilitiesin successfully leading enterprise wide programs and projects.
- High degree of businessacumen and technical competency; ability to balance and bridge technology and businessneeds; project and program management.
- Leadership skills inbuilding team from the scratch and leading them effectively
- Working with infrastructure delivery and support teams to ensurea smooth transition of new capability into production.
- Self-motivated withexceptional oral and written communication skills, ability to communicateclearly and concisely
- Demonstrated ability tomanage multiple projects simultaneously and to resolve scheduling and otherconflicts in order to meet all deadlines.
- Develop and continuallyrevise (in partnership with other teams where necessary) suitable processes andguidelines to ensure appropriate application development standards areavailable to guide all the participant teams.
- Experience in working withagile lifecycle and/or tracking and process management tools, e.g. JIRA
- Deep skills in programmanagement tools, including Microsoft Project, Access, Word, Excel, Visio, andSharePoint.
- Exceptional peoplemanagement skills - able to work with all levels within their portfolio
- Ability to learn technical concepts quickly
- Technical working knowledge of programming languages (Java andPython etc.) in order to lead the team towards the right solutions andimprovements.
- Knowledge of end to end product development concepts includingrisk, audit, controls, and legal and compliance
- Accountability for eachstage of the development process and final product
SkillsDesired:
- Knowledge of Financialmarkets, Institutional Banking & Wealth Management business
- Experience in working onTechnology projects related to Financial Services domain.
- Knowledge of Bankingtechnology & related applications
- Formal Agile Product Ownertraining
- Experience automating EndUser Technology support processes (i.e., Global Service Desk functions, DesktopChange Management, Desktop Software Distribution, etc.)
- Kanban is also a plus
- Lead generation
