Job Description
- Partners with and provides architectural leadership to SAP Function Architects to deliver thoughtful IT solutions to the business. Works collaboratively with enterprise architecture, information security, application & infrastructure teams to produce an optimal, high level, conceptual, and cost-effective designs.
- Sets and influences SAP strategic direction. Demonstrates the ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements and understands the long-term and short-term perspectives of an IT investment situation. Works closely with stakeholders from various lines of business to develop architecture blueprints and realistic roadmaps.
- Analyzes the current SAP architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvement such as enhancing business processes, expanding capacity, reducing time & cost, and increasing overall effectiveness. Acts as an arbitrator, as needed, to bring the appropriate parties together to drive discussions to decisions in a timely manner.
- Documents the SAP enterprise architecture design and analysis work. Owns and documents the overall SAP application architecture based on industry-standard architectural frameworks. Develops a capability road map of the enterprise portfolio from current to future state.
- Consults with application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to the broader company architecture, and collaboratively partners with delivery teams to modify the solution architecture in order to accommodate a specific project need
- Analyzes the technology industry, market trends, and impact of SaaS/Cloud and determines the potential impact on the enterprise. Maintains relationships with SAP ecosystem vendors and maintains vendor roadmaps. Facilitates the evaluation and selection of software product standards.
- Directs the governance activities associated with ensuring EA compliance, particularly as relating to the SAP environmental infrastructure.
- Shows strong functional design and architecture capabilities in cross-functional SAP modules with a specific focus for Retail and Fashion industries.
- Shows strong acumen for SAP technical architecture with a specific focus on cloud hosting (IaaS) on various Hyperscalers like Azure, GCP, and AWS
- Reports to the Director Enterprise Applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related study, is required. MBA or MS in a relevant computing field is preferred.
- Strong experience in architecting SAP solutions: SAP, SAP ERP/ECC, SAP BO/BW, SAP HANA, Business Objects, SAP NetWeaver with specific emphasis on SCM, CAR, PI, BI, Master Data Management and SAP Cloud Platform.
- Has been in an architecture leadership role in 3+ full lifecycle SAP implementations at Fortune 500 companies, including post-implementation experience. Experience working in an environment with a heavy mix of SaaS and on-prem applications.
- At least 12 years of experience in areas such as application design and development, application integration, middleware, database management or operations, information security, technical architecture, network management, mobility.
- Demonstrates well-rounded technology experience/exposure - Java, Microsoft, Open Source, SAP, Oracle, etc.
- Proven ability to develop detailed solution designs. Understands architecture constructs and patterns, protocols such as SOAP, REST, etc., development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
- Self-starter who thrives in an ever-changing, fast-paced business environment.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and planning skills.
- Experienced in working with a Program Management Office (PMO)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
