Job Description
- In this role you will be responsible for databases along with system & application management and support.
- Participating in development and operational reviews to maintain our high development and operational standards.
- Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly databases, reports, dashboards & etc. that will support our analytics and operational business needs.
- Design, build, and manage database solutions and tools that store, retrieve, and analyze data from AWS data sources (ex. Aurora Mysql, S3, DynamoDB)
- Write high quality SQL code to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (ex. MySQL, Cassandra), and learn and understand a broad range of Amazon s data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use.
- Design , deploy and manage Aurora MySQL failover and DR capabilities.
- Design , deploy and manage Microsoft MySQL failover and DR capabilities.
- Working with development teams to fine tune Aurora databases and SQL's ,
- Deploying and validating databases changes during release cycle.
- Update and maintain documentation for DB development , Install, DR .
- Automate functions to improve overall team process
- Work closely with engineering team on new project implementations and application performance tuning.
Qualifications/Required Skill :
- At least 7+ years of work experience in a UNIX/Linux based operating systems ( on-prem and AWS cloud a plus)
- Must have experience in design, development and maintenance of relational databases especially Microsoft SQL Servers , Stores procedures, Triggers and function.
- Must have experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
- Must have experience in performing administrative (installation, configuration, replication & troubleshooting) tasks related to management of MySQL.
- Good to have experience in managing and maintaining Amazon Aurora (MySQL) Clusters.
- Must have strong SQL coding and tuning experience.
- Develop/Enhance database PL/SQL scripts to migrate from source database to target database
- Working knowledge of at least one scripting language (shell, Python, Perl).
- Must have good analytical skills and experience related to handling large data volumes.
- Experience with Cassandra is a plus
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios, Cacti and Zabbix
- Familiarity with version control systems e.g.Perforce, CVS, Git
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (EC2, EBS, S3, etc.)
- Knowledge of Systems engineering experience, including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning.
- Experience with application management and support is plus.
- Proven track record of automating tasks
