Job Description
This role will be part of an enterprise-wide information security operations team responsible for the Synchrony Financial (SYF) Splunk operations. The ideal candidate will provide Level 2-3 support while setting priorities, and managing day-to-day operations across an international team. The candidate in this role is expected to support Splunk infrastructure/security projects, information security assessments and audits, manage production problems, root cause analysis / remediation / resolution for system issues, defects, and minor enhancements, supporting project transition, operations, and technology.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Splunk operations support. Ensure 24x7 infrastructure availability.
- Administration of Splunk/SIEM Technologies
- Support enterprise-wide monitoring mechanisms
- Support assessment reports focused on assets
- Administration of Linux/Unix Operating Systems
- Working with Scripting Languages like Shell, Python, etc.
- Working with Large/Medium sized IT infrastructure
- Ensure expectations are met and ensure high customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
- Support the design and implementation of procedures and controls necessary to ensure and protect the safety and security of information systems assets, including prevention of intentional or inadvertent access, modification, disclosure, or destruction
- Understand business objectives, priorities, drivers and technology focus areas
- As needed, act as a member of rapid response security operations/project support team, working under demanding deadlines, operating as team member as well as independently to resolve complex problems
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree or higher in Information Security, Information Systems , Computer Science, or a related field with minimum 3-6 years of Information Security/IT Security experience with a minimum of 1-3 years of operational experience implementing, administration and managing/supporting Splunk platform.
- Minimum 1-3 years of technical expertise and possess an in-depth background in various infrastructure environments, as well as operating systems; Linux/UNIX
- Minimum 1-3 years of networking, storage and system administration/monitoring experience

- Must not be any corrective action plan (First Formal/Final Formal, PIP)
- Employees who have completed 18 months in the organization and 12 months in current role and level are only eligible.
- Last annual performance rating should at least be Strong Contributor / Critical talent.
