Job Description
The Database Security service use Imperva SecureSphere toolset to log and monitor various activities performed on databases.
Responsible for DB activity logging, monitoring and reporting, technical health and stability of service owned infrastructure, auxiliary infrastructure, and monitored client infrastructure. Collaborating with vendors, various implementation and support teams, offshore sites, stakeholders and auditors to ensure system is healthy, compatible and compliant.
Infrastructure is running on various Unix/Windows operating systems, monitoring DB2, MSSQL, Oracle, MariaDB, Sybase, SAP HANA, MongoDB and Cloudera Hadoop, Teradata DB types.
Roles are based in Chennai and will work closely with the existing PM, Engineering, application owners and other resources based in locations across the globe, following 24x7 model.
What will you be doing
Own and responsible for the end to end design of the Imperva product within Barclays
Successfully deliver an enterprise class logging and monitoring toolset
Drive product features and enhancements
Ensure the team have necessary tech documentation to deliver a world class service (technical knowledge base)
Support the team in their understanding of the toolset training, building understanding
Act as a problem manager for long term issues with the toolset
Drive continual improvements in how the service is delivered through product enhancements
Communicating with vendors and management, ability to understand ever-changing requirements ability to test and implement required changes.
Experience managing a network based auditing solution such as Imperva or IBM s Guardium product
Exposure to virtual server infrastructure (ESX) and experience of building and configuring virtual machines
Some experience as a platform or desktop administrator.
Database administrator (and database auditing) experience for MSSQL, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, MariaDB, MongoDB etc

Skills that will help you in the role:
Proven customer service/ liaison skills in dealing with clients and customers at all levels including difficult and demanding stakeholders.
Able to quickly absorb and assimilate large amounts of technical and business information to identify the most appropriate course of action to ensure consistent quality
Able to work effectively in extreme high pressure situations where critical service availability is compromised and/ or Barclays reputation is at stake
Fully competent in using audio and video conferencing facilities
Exceptional written communication skills; ability to write ad-hoc and formal reports. This will assume a detailed working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc)
Interest in compliance and database (some knowledge will need to be gained to understand the required auditing policy definitions).
Ability to explain and sell a technical solution to both a technical and a non-technical audience.
Progression of the deployment will hinge on the applicants ability to overcome hurdles and unexpected issues so perseverance and negotiation will be vital.
Ability to understand complex requirements.
