At present, GSN is hiring for F5 Load Balancer - Level 2 Support Engineer for one of our leading MNC client. PFB the details for your better understanding :

Job Description :

  • 4+ yrs of EXP in F5 Load Balancing, GTM and ASM with TCP/IP expertise is MUST
  • Configuration, deployment, and maintenance of F5 hardware and software components.
  • Must possess very strong troubleshooting skills as well as a strong TCP understanding as it pertains to packet inspection and TCP flow in the Network and Application flows. A thorough understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, TCP/IP networking and application design etc.
  • Must have a very good understanding of DNS functionality and concepts as it relates to IPv4 and IPv6.
  • Should have hands-on experience LTM, GTM & ASM modules and configure and install new F5 BIG-IP Load balancers at clients network and do the necessary documentation if needed.
  • Should have knowledge of F5 versions 12.1.2 and above
  • Should have TMOS knowledge and be aware of TMSH Command line interface on F5
  • Primary role to onboard new and existing apps to F5 infra along with associated changes like router level Config changes.
  • Work Clients internal application teams to implement application specific load balancer configurations and application specific firewall rules.
  • Take escalation calls involving any critical, non-critical issues on LB have and help to resolve the issue. Also lead the call, troubleshoot the issue and provide temporary/permanent work around to fix the issue.
  • Need to have strong customer services skills and network troubleshooting skills
  • Expert ability to troubleshoot issues and make recommendations for system changes as needed to resolve issues.
  • Prepare scripts for routine maintenance activity which can then be executed by the operations teams.
  • Routine maintenance work may involve Load Balancer upgrade, modification of exiting configuration, addition of new configuration etc. on LBs.
  • Interface with clients to understand the exact requirement of application and do the configuration on F5 based on client requirement. May have to interface with multiple client teams like Networks, Application, Firewall, J2EE, DBA Ops as a part of the client requirement gathering and testing process.
  • Configure and install new F5 BIGIP LTM and GTM Load balancers at clients network, do the necessary documentation if needed.
  • Routine maintenance work may involve Firmware upgrade, modification of exiting VIP, Pool and iRule configuration, addition of new configuration etc. on Load Balancers.
  • Demonstrates experience with installation, configuration, migration, and support of BIGIP F5 Local Traffic Manager Load balancers including iRule and iControl scripts on V10 and V11 and 12.
  • Load Balancing Engineer with hands-on experience on F5 BIG-IP LTM, GTM, Viprion, EM and ASM devices for hardware refresh and software upgrade. This highly dynamic position will interact with application teams to create load balancing configuration and solutions unique to their requirements.
  • Should have TMOS knowledge and expertise in TMOS commands.
  • Should have TMOS administration and command line knowledge
  • Should have good troubleshooting skills including ability to analyze TCP dumps and should have good understanding of basic networking concepts.
  • Should have layer 7 troubleshooting knowledge and troubleshooting with development teams and application testing.
  • Should have F5 iRule programming knowledge to write scripts for automating day-to-day job.
  • Should have deep understanding of DNS architecture and TCP/IP protocol knowledge.
  • MUST have production environment experience consisting of Global load balancing, Local load balancing, SSL acceleration, HTTP compression/caching, and DNS, also the candidate MUST have strong Networking Experience - TCP/IP, Administration of networking hardware.
  • Should be able to troubleshooting application authentication issue and application connections (network, LDAP, Certificates, application, Radius, web servers and DBA etc.) issues.
  • Should have excellent understanding of LAN/WAN technologies.
  • Strong understanding of the different load balancing options & features to include OneConnect, Persistences, and SSL offload functions, HTTP profiles, etc.
  • AWS knowledge to support F5 Virtual Edition and BIG-IP iSeries appliances knowledge will be preferred.
  • Good exposure to the technology and involvement into day to day operations(Incident, Change & Problem Management) of Network and Load Balancer.
  • Should be willing to work in rotational shifts including night shifts.
  • Should be willing to act as an on-call engineer as and when required.
  • Should have worked on: BIG F5 Load Balancers, Global traffic Manager, ASM & or Cisco Load Balancers (ACE, CSM, SSLM, CSS and GSS) and Radware Load Balancers work experience will be preferred.
