Job Description

Title: Graphic Designer / Digital Designer
Department: Creative Studio
Direct Report: Creative Lead

Working within the Creative team, you will be a passionate Designer, with an interest in the marketing/technology industry. You will work closely with our Creative Lead to develop and communicate creative projects.
You will interpret and implement the creative vision across a broad range of projects from digital, social, print and so one. The ideal candidate will be creative with a strong, tradition design background which they will be comfortable (and enjoy) applying to digital.
A dynamic, thorough and enquiring approach will be required as the Middle Weight Designer will be called on to be involved in (and balance the needs of) a wide range of projects and executions, with timelines ranging from the immediate to the long term. Fitting in as part of a wider, creative team, the ability to collaborate effectively is also a must.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Working with the creative team to design a range of products, print communication, brand materials, direct marketing pieces, ads, banner, powerpoint pitch deck, digital designs and moving image
  • Working with the Creative Lead to help deliver concept moodboards/proposals
  • Taking creative briefs given and feedback across a range of projects
  • Understanding the balance between brand and commercial objectives
  • Developing distinctive ideas and executions from start to finish (without looking for continuous direction / organisation from senior team members)
  • To maintain the high visual standard matches sets and assist others in maintaining this standard
  • Creation of presentation and mock-ups to showcase ideas/executions for approvals
  • To bring fresh ideas and approaches by combining cultural awareness with an enquiring creative mind
Key Activities:
  • Working with the creative team to design a range of products, print communication, brand materials, direct marketing pieces, ads, banner, powerpoint pitch deck, digital designs and moving image
  • Researching into the relevant areas in order to bring new ideas to the table
  • Liaising with the creative team to handover your designs
  • Working with our creative partners to interpret campaign work across projects/channels
  • Helping to source images for moodboards to support proposals
  • Putting together proposal layout and provided assets for clients
  • Working on web/ux project to interpret how concepts could work on home pages etc
  • Liaising with other channels when necessary to ensure all required inputs are respected.
Technical Skills:
  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop essential)
  • Additional digital skills (e.g. After Effects, Premiere Pro, Sketch) would be an asset but not essential
  • Typography and print skills
  • Microsoft Office (powerpoint essential)

Ideal Experience:
  • 4+ years design experience, gained in house or in an agency
  • Educated to HND/degree level in a related subject
  • Mac/IT literate, proficient in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, as well as a working knowledge of Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Acrobat
  • An understanding of artwork and print set up
  • Technical knowledge of both Macs and programmes are necessary
  • Knowledge in editing, motion design and UX is a plus
  • Experience in retail, fashion and travel an advantage

  • The ability to respond to any given briefs and direction by the Creative Lead
  • The ability to take design feedbacks (both positive and negative) from their peers, clients, and bosses to solve a particular design problem.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills that can be applied to colleagues and external parties alike
  • Proactive, positive mindset, creative and open to collaboration are a must for this role
