Engineer cum Operator will work with a team of chemists, radio-pharmacists, safety officers in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment chiefly to conduct the production and quality control of PET radioisotopes used in clinical and research work. The engineer will be involved in the production, inventory maintenance and management, cyclotron operation, equipment setup and pre-production checks, quality control of routine radioisotopes, maintaining/troubleshooting of related equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties
Your Primary Responsibilities include:
- Liaising with production chemist to schedule/plan the production.
- Performing preliminary checks on cyclotron to ready it for production.
- Tuning and operating the cyclotron.
- Loading, irradiating and unloading the O18 enriched water.
- Monitoring the cyclotron systems and detecting the potential malfunctions.
- Performing 1st line cyclotron maintenance and possibly minor repairs.
- Ordering, stocking parts and maintaining inventory.
- Performing target maintenance and periodic rebuilding.
- Maintaining records of repairs and production.
- Performing the production of routine PET radioisotopes.
- Participating in training programs.
