Desired Candidate Profile
Role Summary/Purpose:The lead embedded software quality test engineer is part of a research and development team responsible for designing and testing software for industrial control applications primarily for the electrical transmission and distribution industry.
Should have strong experience executing quality test plans for intelligent electronic devices and minimum one year of experience participating in the definition and design of test plans.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Be part of an agile development team that develops embedded software applications.
- Familiarize with GE controllers and develop good understanding on their functionality.
- Define test procedures and design test strategies (minimum set of tests to meet corporate quality standards and optimize tests resources)
- Design system test plans beyond simple functional verification to include performance, boundary and negative testing.
- Create Test cases and setups including automated, manual and simulation procedures designed to validate the quality and performance of the products in line with design and industry requirements.
- Lead and mentor PB test specialists.
- Collaborate, contribute, estimate and advise upper management and NPI teams on software quality test and plans for projects, customers, budgets, resources, tools and technologies.
- Take on frontline role in the handling of critical customer and business issues.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.
- Own and execute test cases for each requirement as part of an agile iteration schedule.
- Identify and ensure requirements traceability to test cases.
- Identify and report defects detected during testing
- Assist in prioritization of reported defects and work with software developers to facilitate timely closure
- Verify resolution of resolved defects
- Record and report test results in an effective manner.

UG: Any Graduate - Any Specialization
PG: Any Postgraduate - Any Specialization
Doctorate: Doctorate Not Required
