Desired Candidate Profile
Role Summary/Purpose:The Piping & Supports engineer shall be responsible for performing piping and supports design in 3D PDMS environment for large thermal power plants. The engineer shall be responsible for pipe routing in PDMS, supports design, preparation of isometrics, support drawings and MTOs. He shall be fully responsible to plan and execute his scope of work to meet the Deliver on time and Quality requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- The Piping & Supports design Engineer has the technical and time schedule responsibility to perform piping and supports design and prepare isometrics, support drawings and MTO as per the batch assigned by the Lead Engineer Piping.
- Develop clash free pipe routing considering all aspects of good engineering practices.
- Ensure proper selection of support components from supplier catalogues.
- Check the adequacy of the supporting structural steel member sizes through proper calculations.
- Ensure that the design of his Engineering function is according to the applicable rules, regulations, codes and standards and according to good engineering practice especially with regard to Environmental aspects and Health & Safety of Site Personal, Operators, Maintenance personnel and third parties;
- Optimizing the design of piping and supports so as to minimize costs.
- Check & comment external documents (Partners, Sub Contractors) and manage & check the interface data (type, dimensions, location, )
- Participate to or assume the follow-up of piping detail subcontracted studies
- React to any missing information;
- Manage the team in charge of the engineering scope of supply and/or services assigned to him;
- React to any site requirements and assume the necessary tasks to operate the NCR processing. Input the as-recorded information inside the tools and drawings;
- Analyse clients comments and prepare answers duly argued;
- Ensure experience feedback from the project
Education:
UG: B.Tech/B.E. - Mechanical
PG: Any Postgraduate - Any Specialization
Doctorate: Doctorate Not Required
