Position Overview/Summary
Aon Impact Forecasting (IF) is looking for a wind vulnerability modeler. This is a full-time position located in Bangalore (India)., to build wind damage functions for different regions in the APAC.

Responsibilities
Develop vulnerability functions for atmospheric perils (using simulation and/or claims) for different regions based on building inventory data.
Development and calibration of bespoke vulnerability functions.
Utilize probabilistic models to estimate location and portfolio level loss distribution and average annual loss.
Use IF proprietary loss modeling platform ELEMENTS in estimating loss.
Actively collaborate with RD team and software development teams in all aspects of the model development and implementing the methodologies developed by the RD group at IF.
Provide critical analysis of modeling results for internal validation of models and explaining results to clients when needed.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
This position requires a master s degree and preferably a PhD in Engineering / Science / Mathematics.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Solid knowledge of probability concepts and statistics
General understanding about structural engineering (preferred but not a necessity).
Excellent understanding and at least 2 years direct experience in vulnerability related to any peril. The candidate should have a general understanding about construction codes and practices (preferred but not a necessity).
Proficiency in data analysis and excellent programming skills in MATLAB, Python, or R.
Some knowledge of insurance/reinsurance concepts is a plus
