Senior Program Manager - Hyderabad @ Microsoft

Responsibilities

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who want to work in a startup-like environment and enjoy tough challenges. You will partner with key Azure platform teams to create products that enable operators to adopt Azure to host their core network infrastructure and operations. Our market opportunity is huge, and our team is expanding.

This role requires:

• Direct interaction with mobile operators, network equipment providers and system integrators, to understand requirements and use cases
• Help mobile operators and partners with planning, design, proof of concept deployments, and production deployment of a Microsoft Azure-based NFVi to host their network functions
• Be the go-to technical expert for NFVi for mobile operators; explain, demonstrate, and prove in-depth how various Microsoft Cloud platforms and services can come together to help mobile operators meet their NFV hosting needs
• Define roadmaps for customer scenarios, features, and capabilities that you will own
• Develop credible execution plans in partnership with engineering teams
• Apply data-driven insight where possible to improve efficiencies
• Design features by converting complex requirements, metrics, and policy into technical feature specifications and designs
• Approach complex problems with a structured approach. Communicate to senior decision makers with clarity and precision.
• Ability to drive decisive action in partnership with others in a large & diverse organization and deliver results that depend on broader Microsoft org.
• Define targets for key business KPIs, and track and report progress on them
• Define and implement QoS and SLA metrics for your scenarios / features / capabilities
• Clear technical and competitive blockers for escalations from sales teams
• Help lead and champion a team culture that embraces diversity and inclusively

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering or related field or 5+ years of professional experience in the technology industry
• 5+ years of software industry experience working as a technical program manager or software engineer, or experience in planning, deployment and/or operation of mobile operator networking technology
• Experience in distributed systems, building large scale platforms, and cloud technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to learn and grasps concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Great problem solving skills and outstanding drive for results
• Ability to drive clarity in ambiguity, communicate and stand behind key decisions taken in front of key stakeholders
• Self-starter, who proactively identifies problems and drives for resolution
• Proven ability to discuss distributed computing topics with technical, non-technical, and executive audiences
• Experience building and/or using Container platform technologies. Example: Kubernetes, Docker
• Experience building and/or using private cloud technologies. Example: OpenStack, VMWare
• Experience building Deployment orchestration platforms
• Domain knowledge about cloud datacenter infrastructure & environment
• Experience in migrating on premise workloads to the cloud a plus
• Scripting and/or programming skills in C#, Python, or PowerShell
• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences
• Advanced technical degree or MBA is a plus
