Job Description

Responsibilities

Engineer focused on white-gloving strategic customers and building tooling to unblock their onboarding.
Understands and articulates value of PostgreSQL.
Provides white gloved technical handholding and suggests workarounds to land customers during PoC and migration phases.
Solves critical/complex technical issues for customers, avoiding and mitigating disruptions to customers/consumption.
Identifies blocking patterns and develops customer onboarding tooling, leading the way for the shortest onboarding time for customers and ways to enhance engineering productivity.
Partners and collaborates with sales, product management and other engineering teams on related deliverables, and effectively leverages others in development/quality of products and services that delight customers and add value.
Contributes to improvement of the engineering process, manages risks, dependencies, and compromises, and integrates software into broader ecosystems and/or products and services.
Works with core engineering to define a path to integrate customer tooling into the core product.

Qualifications

5-8 years professional computer science industry experience
BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field
Excellent Knowledge of a scripting language - e.g. BASH, Python, Ruby, Perl (OR) others.
Familiarity working with RDBMS solutions (PostgreSQL preferred, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle etc also OK) in a professional capacity.
Prior experience in a customer facing role (support, product, technical sales).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to understand customer pain points and come up with innovative solutions to solve them. Additional Skills
Prior experience with PostgreSQL is a plus.
Data modeling, performance tuning and experience in writing efficient SQL is a plus.
Prior experience with the Azure eco-system is a plus.
