Job Description


This is a technical project leadership role. A successful candidate will have prior exposure to Project Management best practices, ideally in a technical, data science or quantitative risk environment.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
  • Consolidate and summarise information at a large model framework level for senior stake holders, including senior management forums.
  • Produce management information (daily validation status update) on model validation status of models used in the LMF cycles stress testing, ICAAP, etc.
  • Create and maintain database related to annual reviews, outstanding issues, open audit actions, remediation plan, etc

What will you be doing
Technical skills (60%)
  • Proficient with data manipulation techniques ability to identify data issues, be able to make appropriate assumptions, be able to summarise data to draw meaningful outcomes.
  • Develop great understanding of the data structure and be able query data, per requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy and transparency of the analysis undertaken, create an audit trail to allow independent review and challenge
  • Produce high quality summary reports for senior stake holders.

Stakeholder Interaction and Model Governance (20%)
  • Ensure open, transparent, proactive and timely interaction with key stakeholders (Model Owners, IVU leads, MRM governance and reporting teams, etc.) in alignment with Barclays Values and Behaviour principles
  • Ensure that the Model Risk Policy and external regulatory requirements are upheld.

Technical Development (20%)
  • Self-study of developments in regulatory guidelines SS3/18, SR7/11, Model risk policy and standards.
  • Attendance and contribution to internal IVU trainings to enhance the team development

  • Automation Ability to analyse, design and automate processes
  • Project Management Ability to run projects independently and has a grasp of PM concepts and best practices.
  • Experience of or exposure to either Technology or Data Science: Ability to understand, discuss, design and implement solutions. Should be able to write code when necessary.
  • Communication - Strong communication skills

Skills that will help you in the role
  • Honours or Masters degree in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or Computational Science
  • Strong Data Analytics experience, gained within an audit, risk or compliance function. Software development experience will be desirable.
  • Comfortable in using blend technologies which could include: a range of the following scripting/query/BI packages: VBA, Python, R, SQL, SAS and relational database technologies ranging from: Teradata, Oracle, and MS SQL Server.
  • Experience with Project Management tools (JIRA, MS Project) and the MS Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Project, Visio and SharePoint skills).
