Roles and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimation, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of eCommerce solution for our clients. This includes but not limited to eCommerce web site, mobile eCommerce sites, as well as custom mobile applications.
- Projects primarily involve customization of the eCommerce framework on the IBM WebSphere Commerce platform. In addition, will incorporate the latest technologies to deliver on client requirements. As such, should be able to quickly analyze how closely capabilities in IBM WebSphere Commerce matches the business requirement, identify gaps and suggest solution.
- Work in a team environment with solution architects and developers on interpretation/translation of wireframes and creative designs into functional requirements, and subsequently into technical design.
- Work with business analysts to fully understand business requirements.
- Lead, mentor and guide developers on the team to ensure they are aware of technical requirements, and help contribute to their success.
- Involve in front-end and server-side development of robust, high-volume eCommerce systems, as well as be able to develop prototypes quickly.
- Conduct code, technical and design reviews.
- Prepares and executes unit test plans with test data and scripts.
- Profile eCommerce application to identify performance bottlenecks and develop improvements.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience (i.e., 5+ years) with WebSphere Commerce development, and can demonstrate advanced knowledge of its run-time framework, frontend components, and tag libraries.
- Strong hands-on experience in multiple WebSphere Commerce subsystems, i.e., Catalog, Order Management, Member, Marketing, etc.
- Able to leverage WebSphere Commerce commands, JSPs, Servlets, JDBC, JNDI, ANT, and JSTL
- Strong experience in Java/J2EE development, object oriented design and programming
- Strong experience in user interface design and web development with DoJo, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS and Ajax
- Significant experience with Struts and Spring application frameworks
- Strong database development with SQL, solid understanding of relational database technologies preferably with DB2, and data modeling
- Strong experience with application servers such as WebSphere, JBoss and Weblogic in relation to packaging and deploying Java applications.
- Strong experience in development and deployment in a multi-tiered and multi-server application architecture
- Strong experience with XML, SOAP and REST based web service development
- Strong experience with development tools such as Eclipse
- Strong experience with source code version control systems such as CVS and Subversion
- Strong experience with build and deployment using Apache Ant
- Strong experience with both SDLC and Agile development methodologies
- Knowledge in search engines such as SOLR and Endeca is desirable
- Knowledge in iterative and parallel development model is desirable
- Certifications in Java, WebSphere Commerce, WebSphere Application Server and DB2 are a plus
