Linux Engineering Support

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring Service Providers end-to-end support of infrastructure services.
  • Managing Service Provider overall performance & SLAs and quality in accordance with contract
  • Ensuring that networks, remote connections and virtual environments are properly maintained and available
  • Ensuring that Patch Monitoring and Deployments are performed timely and in accordance with service levels.
  • Monitoring Apache, Nginx, DNS queries and troubleshoot any server side issues.
  • Proper user administration and system monitoring, troubleshoot technical issues
  • Maintaining system and monitor system performance
  • Monitor network communication
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance
  • Motivation to learn new skills and technologies
  • Good understanding of web Services, API and IP based protocols
  • Understanding Unix/Linux environment
  • Understanding of Cassandra/MySQL or other database systems
  • Understanding/Experiences in scripting languages (Perl, Shell)
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Research and identify solutions to server, application and hardware issues
  • Evaluate and prioritize customer support cases
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration
  • Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem
  • Track computer system issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits
  • Talk to clients through a series of actions, either via phone, email or chat, until theyve solved a technical issue
  • Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams (e.g. , application, SYS team, software developers)
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
  • Refer to internal database or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions
  • Ensure all issues are properly logged
  • Act as the primary liaison between company and your customers
  • Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time
  • Follow up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports
  • Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals
  • Maintain jovial relationships with clients
Requirements
  • Good in Linux and cloud technologies
  • Proven work experience as an Engineering Support Engineer, Linux, Cloud
  • Hands-on experience with Linux/Windows/MAC OS environments
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
  • BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field
  • Additional certification in Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, or similar technologies is a plus
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
