Ensuring that servicemen and women have enough food, ammunition and other supplies is the main job of a Logistic Officer. Logistic Officers serve in a branch of the Armed Forces or the Coast Guard and oversee the entire supply chain, from ordering and warehousing to delivering materials to military bases and outposts. Processing requests, keeping inventory, coordinating transportation and maintaining databases are among the duties fulfilled by a Logistic Officer. A Logistic Officer might also oversee the security of a military base. In addition to working on military bases, a Logistic Officer might also be employed by government agencies, companies with government or military contracts or by nonprofit organizations.
