Beyond the usual responsibility of designing, developing, detailing, and thoroughly testing code, Computer Scientists @ Adobe would own features of varying complexity, which may require understanding interactions with other parts of the system, a high degree of sophisticated algorithms, and good design judgment. We are looking for passionate, hardworking, and highly motivated engineers with a zeal and ability to understand new product features or technologies.Job Description
What you'll do
- Own development for features of medium to large complexity and apply in-depth knowledge to turn requirements into architectural and feature specs.
- Participate extensively in the analysis, design, prototype, and implementation of new features and improving existing ones.
- Address broad architecture and design issues of existing/future products or technologies and provide strategic direction in evaluating new technologies.
- Collaborate with architects, product management and other engineering teams to create the technical vision, and road map for the team.
- Design, development and testing of large scale, low latency, high throughput services which serves hundreds of millions of requests every day.
- Build technical specifications, prototypes, and presentations to communicate your ideas.
- Build robust fault tolerant and highly available systems at very high scale while providing ease and convenience to disparate solutions and enterprise customer team is key to our success.
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience
- Bachelors/master's in computer science or a related field.
- Specialist in Java, Web Services, Spring, Kafka, JS and data structures
- Experience in Big Data tools like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Oozie are nice to have
- Experience in Databases and NoSQL like Cassandra, Dynamo DB, Redis, MySQL will be added advantage.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Work closely and seamlessly with various engineering teams, product management, experience design to ensure we deliver excellent compelling solutions.
- At ease with ambiguity and able to adapt and change direction/technologies to demonstrate new takeaways.
- Proficient in emerging industry technologies and trends, and the ability to communicate that knowledge to the team and use it to influence product direction.
- Be a mentor and role model for junior engineers.
