Job Overview: The Software Engineer III designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software tools including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and test commercial/enterprise grade software
- Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns
- Knack for writing clean, readable Java code
- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- High grade of analytical skills to understand and debug complex applications
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, build tools and continuous integration tools
- Experience with test-driven development
- Experience with managing build and deployment processes
- Responsible for software delivery to other teams like QA and Operations
- Open to learn new technologies
- B.E./ B. Tech. /MCA / M. Tech or similar
- Certified Java Developer
- 8+ years Java software engineering experience with proven hands-on Software Development experience
- Strong knowledge in databases like SQL Server and PostgreSQL; knowledge in JDBC and proficient education in SQL
- Experience in Web application development with technologies like html/html5, JSP, JavaScript, CSS3
- Experience in writing and using APIs for distributed Web applications
- Experience in working with XML and XSLT
- Fluency in English language, both written and spoken Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to deal professionally and collaboratively with all levels of the organization and across geographies
- Experience in writing business software for B2B, SCM or EDI
- Experience with GIT, Ant, Jenkins, Ansible
- Experiences in technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Spring, Node.js, JS frameworks, NoSQL databases
- Experience developing cloud native applications for AWS, Azure, or CloudStack
- Agile Development Methodologies
- Experience developing distributed software applications
- Experience developing horizontally scalable web applications
- Experience with business process workflow development or systems
- Experience with fully Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
