Job Summary:
The Principal Software Engineer, Digital and Transformation works independently and has expert level capabilities and knowledge. Oversees and participates in the architectural design, development, and enhancement of applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Possesses solid understanding of the overall vision, business needs and the solution architecture for cloud-based solution. Uses this in-depth knowledge to solve complex problems.
- Utilizes knowledge of best practices to building highly scalable, robust, secure and sustainable solution using Azure Platform.
- Writes high-quality code for Azure PaaS Services with microservice based architecture
- Building repeatable deployment solution using ARM Templates.
- Transforms business requirements into technical specifications
- Estimates technical requirements and breaks down work to user stories and tasks
- Plans, develops, tests, deploys and monitors cloud-based solution in a DevOps model
- Collaborates with senior roles and Architects on various prototypes, or proof of concept, to test solutions
- Coaches, supports and trains other developers and engineers
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Breadth of expertise in the following:
- Developing & managing cloud-based solution with Azure PaaS, using C#, .NET Core, Node.Js and python
- Designing and building highly scalable, available and resilience cloud solution architecture
- Azure IoT and Azure IoT Edge based architecture and developing solution for the same.
- Developing application using Azure IoT Hubs, Azure Event Hubs, Stream Analytics, Azure Storages, Azure Cosmos Db, Azure Key Vaults, Data Lake and other Azure PaaS Services
- Device Provisioning techniques, Azure IoT Provisioning services and developing custom device provisioning services.
- Developing secure solution using Azure Active Directory and Azure Key Vaults
- Managing and controlling APIs using Azure API Management Services
- Microservice based architecture and development using Azure Services fabric
- Deployment of solution using Azure App Services and using docker based container.
- Developing custom docker images, publishing it to docker registry and Azure Container Registry services
- Serverless computing and architecture, and building solution using Azure Functions with cloud messaging and storage platform
- Azure Integration services such Service Bus and Logic Apps
- Developing and implementing data orchestration using Azure Data Factory with various input and output data sources
- Developing in an Agile methodology with Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS)
- Setting up Disaster Recovery platform for custom developed Azure solution.
- Setting up Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) / DevOps for cloud hosted solution.
- PowerShell and Azure CLI
- Developing reusable ARM templates with the help of PowerShell
- Azure Automation, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics services
- Monitoring and troubleshooting Azure hosted solution
- Various code repositories like Git, TFS, etc
- Experience in various cloud design pattern.
- Application Telemetry and analyze telemetry using Application Insights and other analytics services
- Deep expertise, understanding and knowledge of the following:
- Overall Azure and cloud platform ecosystem and roadmaps
- Azure Cognitive APIs including Vision, Speech, Language etc.
- Azure Machine Learning Platform including Data Modeling, Azure Machine Learning Studio or any other Tools
- Azure Data and Data Analytics platform such Analytics Services
- Docker, Docker Hub and using Kubernetes for automating containerized application deployment
- Application Monitoring and SOPs for Azure Services App Management
- Familiar with Developing Bot using Microsoft Bot Framework with CRM KB is Plus.
- Experiences working with Node-Red is a plus
Preferred:
- Overall 4+ years of experiences with Azure development (1-2 years with Azure IoT / Azure IoT edge-based development)
- Previous development experiences with .NET, C#, WPF, ASP.NET MVC with other Microsoft Tools and Technologies
- Ability to work in a global and virtual environment and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced & complex environment with a self-motivated work ethic; utilize sound judgment with an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
- Willingness to global travel
- Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
- Able to comply with the companys safety policy at all times
- Able to comply with the companys quality policy at all times.
Physical and Travel Requirements
15% travel, including global travel
Occasional on-call work required
