Job Specification
Job purpose & Scope
We are seeking industrial designers to design next-generation products as well as refine and evolve existing product lines that consumers will love to use. She/he should help in translating user insights into actionable design opportunities.
Focusing on the physical aspects of the product, she/he employs an understanding of user needs, business requirements, aesthetics, form, proportion, colour, materials, and manufacturing processes to create elegant forms that are aesthetically pleasing, usable and manufacturable.
Major Areas of Responsibilities & Authorities
- Collaborate with internal customers to establish the design brief, including the concept, performance and production criteria.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering teams to generate outstanding design solutions and extend support to CFT throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Creates a culture of rapid idea generation and viability assessment, to shift the boundaries of thinking.
- Guides and mentors the team to create high-quality design concepts and compelling presentations for stakeholders.
- Maintain a forward understanding of design and consumer trends and standard methodologies.
- Make informed and pragmatic tradeoffs across design objectives, engineering constraints, and business needs.
- Timely review the work output of the team members and guide them to push their performance.
Person Specifications
Essential Qualification: Industrial Design PG / UG from reputed institutes like NID, IDC IIT Bombay, CPDM ISC Bangalore/ MIT/ Srishti
Desired Qualification: MDES/ BDES
Experience: 6-9 years
Industry Preference: Experience in consumer products is desirable.
