Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- This position is part of BNY Mellons Corporate Treasury Data and Technology Strategy team. Under moderate supervision, the successful candidate will conduct advanced research and perform data gathering and analyses functions in support of more senior team members tasked with controlling the risks associated with all balance sheet line items and products offered by BNY Mellon.
- While a willingness and ability to learn more about Treasury and Asset and Liability Management data is expected, the successful candidate may provide analytical and problem solving support regarding data quality issues to further develop the ALM data quality policy and strategy in alignment with enterprise-level guidance, and regulatory requirements.
- The successful candidate will collect financial data and runs basic governance processes and reports used to manage the data quality in the Asset Liability Management Information System (ALMIS ) platform. Other responsibilities include reviewing calculations for validity and accuracy and reporting on unexpected/undesired results.
- Some experience with Database Structure, Business Intelligence data management and visualization applications (such as Power BI) and the ability to use SQL (or other computer languages such as Python) for data analysis, and a foundational knowledge of balance sheet concepts is a plus.

Technical knowledge

Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Degree in math, engineering, statistics, computational finance, economics or computer science preferred. Work toward or completion of MBA, CFA, or CPA/CA preferred. Three to five years of total work experience preferred. Some experience with balance sheet data, its use, governance and management, and related data in any of the following: liquidity analytics and reporting; liquidity stress testing; liquidity risk management, interest rate risk management, or asset-liability management within large complex financial organizations is strongly preferred.
