Job Description

Your Key Responsibilities

Design and develop secure and scalable microservices to power Hotstar s cloud-based social and gaming workflows

Re-architect existing workflows for increased robustness, scalability and efficiency

Quickly troubleshoot production issues and come up with an appropriate

Develop tools processes to enable operations support for our services.

Take ownership of end-to-end product quality, from developing to maintaining core app frameworks that help make the platform more reliable and delightful

Create prototypes of new ideas and explore new technologies at the forefront of existing technology

What to Bring

Bachelors degree in CS or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience building production software systems

Expert programmer in Python programming languages

In-depth knowledge of Django web framework and its internals

Experience in developing and deploying cloud-based microservices - in-depth and working knowledge with AWS services - S3, Glacier, EFS, Lambda, EC2, IAM, Terraform, Vault; Networking, Docker, K8s, GoCD pipelines, Prometheus, Grafana monitoring

Working knowledge writing DAGs using Apache Airflow and familiarity with scheduling and synchronization mechanisms.

Strong Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis, OO design/development

Very good understanding of different database models - relational, columnar, graph etc. Experience with Cassandra is a big plus.

Very good understanding of caches and experience with Redis - both development and operational

Good understanding of asynchronous processing models - message queues, worker processes etc.

Familiarity with Video, Audio and subtitle, metadata formats is a plus
