Document and evaluate patients medical histories for developing treatment plans based on patients histories and goals, the nature and severity of disorders, and treatment risks and benefits.
Assess patients eyes and visual systems to determine the nature and extent of ocular disorders for diagnosing and treating injuries, disorders, or diseases of the eye, its appendages and orbital structures.
Manage medical disorders affecting vision such as inflammatory, vascular, neurological, and genetic disorders, thyroid eye disease, diabetes, and strokes, by using a holistic approach and not just focusing on the eye.
Manage diabetes retinal screening programs.
Partner with multidisciplinary teams of health professionals to provide optimal patient care.
Perform Ophthalmic surgeries and procedures to treat & diagnose different conditions and problems in the patients eyes and ensure provisioning of postoperative care
Follow up with the ophthalmology team consisting of optometrists, orthoptists, and nurses for maintaining seamless operations.
Render ophthalmic consultation to referred patients of other medical specialties as well as to other medical professionals.
Generate awareness amongst patients on maintenance and promotion of healthy vision and ocular hygiene.
Conduct teaching and training sessions for the trainee Fellows and paramedical staff based on the operational/curricular requirements.
