Experience : 11 - 20 Years

Role Responsibilities and Desired Profile :
1. Candidate will lead the architecture & technology choices in the CORD (Central Office Re-architected as Data-center) programs. Will be responsible for
- Leading product development combining customers- needs, organization's business objectives and application of latest or appropriate technology cost effectively.
-Software Product Requirements development in consultation with PLM, Pre-sales and Customers. Software architecture development, with focus on portability, modularity, virtualization, cloud adaptation.
- Guiding team to create software design, including cost-benefit analysis across multiple design options. Guide the team to build high quality software. Will report to Engineering Manager on project issues and interact with the Chief Architect for technology related issues.
2. Should have total of 11-20 years of Hands-on product development experience in telecommunications products (wireline or wireless).
- 2+ years of development experience in Networking (Switching, SDN).
- 3+ years of development experience in Cloud architecture, Virtualization and Orchestration.
- 5+ years of development experience in any of these Telecom domains - LTE/ UMTS, PON/ xGPON/FTTH, Cable/DOCSIS.
- Well versed with Agile/Scrum software development life cycles and processes.
An Architect / Sr Architect is primarily responsible for the following :
- Networking (1 or more are mandatory).
- Hands on experience in networking - Switching, DPDK, Network Switches, SDN. - Knowledge on ONIE, Open Network Linux (ONL), ONOS, Open switch Specification is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Cumulus Linux for switches (OS installation, licensing, and port configuration) and CoreOS for servers is desirable. Cloud / Virtualization / Data Centre (2 or more are mandatory).
- Has in depth knowledge of the Open Source components, Open Stack; focused on cloud management.
3. Good knowledge on Open Compute Server architecture. Hardware knowledge on Servers (includes compute and storage servers).
- Good knowledge and experience on Platform, hardware and firmware. Knowledge of operating systems and experience in Linux operating system and packages like DHCP, NFS, PXE-Boot.
- Hands on experience dealing with Linux set-up, configuration, bootloader/Firmware, Linux BSP and SDK. Working experience in the data-center infrastructure set-up, configuration, validation and deployment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with High Availability (HA) & Scalability. Telecom (1 or more desirable). Experience in FTTH technologies - GPON, XGPON, OLT/ONT.
- Experience in cellular wireless technologies such as UMTS, LTE is desirable. Experience in DOCSIS or SS7/ISDN.
- Programming/Scripting (2 or more mandatory). Good programming skills in C/C++/Java. Scripting - python / Ansible-playbook / Ruby / puppet/ Platform tools.
- Experience in system integration, testing and debugging, troubleshooting. Excellent problem solving, analytical skills
4. Accountability and Authorities : Accountable for his / her responsibilities described above in Role section.
- Will approve the architecture, product requirements, design documents and the system test specifications. Defines/Approves any architectural changes in the product program.
- Technical changes in the product program. External Interfacing
- With Customers / Product Management / Pre-Sales teams for analyzing the requirements. With other BUs worldwide for periodic update / collaboration. With Corporate Quality for audit.
Soft Skills :
- Good communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and listening). Good mentoring skills. Good demonstration skills and customer interaction.
- Active team player & excellent interpersonal interactions skills in a team work environment. Must have ability to drive and demand result from team, resolve technical conflicts. Ability to front end big customers / operators with technical and business acumen desirable.
- Should be a Graduate in Computer Science / Electronics Engineering.
