Job Description
At DeliverHealth, were passionate about simplifying healthcare through innovative technology and services. We count on our Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to keep all user-facing services and other DeliverHealth production systems running smoothly as well as identify and automate manual processes. As we expand our customer deployments, we are currently seeking an experienced SRE to bring sound engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation to our environments and codebase. Specifically, we are searching for someone who brings fresh ideas, demonstrates a unique and informed viewpoint, and enjoys collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop real-world solutions and positive user experiences at every interaction.
Responsibilities
- Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
- Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications
- Solve problems relating to mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence, with the goal of automating response to all non-exceptional service conditions
- Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
- Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications
- Respond to availability incidents and provide support to Technical Support Engineers for customer incidents
- Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and root cause analysis
- Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
- Develop, test, and debug automated tasks (Apps, Systems, Infrastructure) to create sustainable systems and services
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years on a Technical Operations or System Engineering team
- Knowledge of Agile practices
- Basic scripting skills (BASH, Powershell, etc)
- Experience writing code in JavaScript, Java, C/C++, Go, Shell, Perl, Python, or a similar language
- Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks
- Production experience with Azure Cloud and/or any other public cloud
- A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
- Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills, able to collaborate and build support on your team and cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelors degree in a Computer Science field
- 3+ years on a Technical Operations or System Engineering team
- Exposure in ITSM Operations (Incident, Problem, Release and Change Management)
- Proficient in at least two or more software languages with respect to designing, coding, testing, and software delivery
