Support Engineers (SE) serve as frontline technical resources for Microsoft customers and partners via phone, email or web. They deliver unique value by collaboratively and reactively solving customer problems, providing proactive support advice, contributing to product quality and enhancements and creating self-help assets to broadly reach more customers. You will be part of a team responsible for providing an outstanding technical support experience to our business customers. From problem identification to full resolution, you will own and manage the customer experience over the phone and Web. When needed, you will collaborate with others to engage subject matter experts, Engineering (Product Groups) or Management. Your day to day job will be about providing both technical expertise (either on your own or by involving your colleagues) and about being an excellent communicator and a service oriented professional. You will be given the opportunity to become a subject matter expert in one or more areas and receive guidance and mentorship from your colleagues.


Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Enterprise customers on phone and remotely
  • Scoping and documenting customer scenarios, potential causes and troubleshooting steps
  • Effectively communicating with customers and stakeholders
  • Identify, confirm, escalate bugs and provide appropriate alternate implementations/ techniques in Microsoft products reported by external developers.
  • Identify issues that occur frequently and help create a knowledge base article to solve/workaround that issue.

Visual Studio Setup & Deployment Support Engineer

The Support Engineer - Developer Support acts as the primary technical contact, and delivers advanced technical troubleshooting support and problem resolution for Enterprise Customers, including issues escalated to the highest levels of Management. You would be required to deliver timely and high quality incident resolution focusing on root cause analysis, prevention, and knowledge transfer.

A Support Engineer primarily works with external developers (Customers) who use Microsoft Technologies (Visual Studio).

Candidates Profile:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of deploying software applications on Windows OS & Networks
  • Good knowledge in any one of the following technologies - Fundamental programming knowledge (C#/VB/C++)/ Basic application packaging using Visual Studio, Install Shield or Wise Studio
  • Basic knowledge of ClickOnce deployment, SCCM, App-V etc. would be an added advantage. Even Knowledge on WIX would be good enough to hire a candidate
  • Good Knowledge on Operating System Fundamentals (Process/Thread/Stack etc.) and Knowledge of deploying software applications on Windows OS
  • Experience of at least 5 years in the technical environment mentioned above is desirable
  • Ability to learn from an issue/situation and adapt and carry forward the solution to another seemingly unrelated issue.
  • Good English Communication Skills - Spoken and Written (including technical writing)
  • Excellent customer Service skills and effective learning skills

Preferred

  • Minimum 3 Years of working experience in MSI Packaging Industry
  • Prior technical phone/remote support experience

Reporting to: Team Manager

The position requires working in EVENING / NIGHT SHIFTS and providing VOICE-BASED SUPPORT
