Job Description: Optical DWDM
Job Role: The engineer can work Queue hours and pick cases with the team. GTAC leads/team will assist with trainings and such to get them up to speed, however the candidate should already have a foundational understanding of the platforms noted below.
Key Skills Required: NCS2k, NCS1k, NCS4k, NCS4200, ASR903
Responsibilities:
- Setting up lab-recreates for simulating customer environment based on the given requirements and to analyze any potential problems with the proposed network design.
- Providing Network Problem Resolution, Root-Cause Analysis, Software Referral assistance as per contracted agreement with named customer.
- Network optimization, calibration, troubleshooting, reproduction for Cisco development team for future enhancements of protocols and hardware.
- Identify Training requirements & Deliver trainings to Cisco partners on new products.
- Handle and take ownership of design issues that are escalated from the team and provide resolution.
- Lead and participate in special projects that are assigned to the AS team.
- Work closely in co-ordination with Cisco customers using all (Routing protocols/ Optical Protocol) and Cisco development team in order to provide comparison b/w expected and actual losses while implementing Routing and Optical protocols in the live environment..
- Delivering CCNA and CCDA new hire training to fresh batches for process ramp-up.
Product & Technology expertise
- Platform Architecture and Functional Knowledge on Optical Devices: Cisco ONS15454 flagship product including Cisco NCS4200, NCS2000, NCS4000, M6, M12, M15 for different technologies, CPT (50, 200 and 600), Cisco Legacy 15600 and 15300 shelf, Flex-Spectrum, Cisco ROSCO aka NCS1K box.
- Platform architecture knowledge on Cisco routers: CRS, ASRs, UBRs, ISRs, 7600, 7200, 3800, 2900, 2800, 1900, 1800, 1700, 800 series.
- Platform architecture knowledge on Cisco Switches: Nexus, 6500, 4500, 3750/3560, 2960/2950 and ether-switch modules.
- Familiar with all routers and switches IOS trains including IOS-XR and NX-OS.
- Troubleshooting router/switch crashes, recovery and upgrades
- Have basic knowledge on ASA, CBAC, ZBF, AAA, Access-lists, GRE.
