As a Strategic Program Leader , you will take leadership over the definition, execution, and continuing governance and benefits realization of strategic initiatives that cross over the five businesses of the Precision Diagnosis Business Cluster, with specific focus on R&D and innovation. This role will take specific leadership over the on-going cross-Business modular innovation activities, with the aim of fully implementing and securing benefits from module re-use across multiple globally and organizationally distributed R&D teams. Additional assignments of a similar character will be shaped as the programs progress and mature.

This role will report directly to the Head of Innovation Programs and work in close collaboration with Cluster Innovation and Marketing leadership as well as functional leaders in HR, Finance, and other enabling functions.

Your Responsibilities

  • Cross-Business program governance and steering: Organize the operating rhythms and governance bodies related to cross-Business modularization or similar initiatives and ensures a lean and effective process for resolving issues and making decisions across organizations.
  • Budget/portfolio coordination: Coordinate overall prioritization and budgeting process for modular innovation and ensure adherence to a common road mapping and on-boarding process.
  • Cross-business orchestration: Maintain the inventory of cross-Business agreements, program dependencies, and related risks between module development teams and PD businesses that intend to integrate those modules. Continuously monitor status and, where required, take ownership to drive resolution in conjunction with module and Business R&D and PMO teams.
  • Performance management: Monitor progress of all modularization initiatives including tracking of dedicated KPIs and program progress. Continue to refine the KPIs and lead targeted corrective actions (kaizens, etc) when the scope of concern extends across Businesses or is structural in nature.
  • Drive transformation: Coordinate transformations and change management across Business as related to modularization, such as on-boarding of new groups and products (with project management support, where required)
  • Oversees benefits: Ensure that performance and productivity benefits are managed and reported through standard methodology, including via interface with the PD Results Delivery Office and Finance teams

Your Team

This role will be a part of the global Precision Diagnosis Innovation team. The role will be located at the Philips Innovation Campus in Bangalore, India.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Master s, MBA, or advanced degree in business or technical field
  • 5+ years of senior R&D management experience is required, coupled with specific track record of 2+ years leading major transformational change programs in R&D organizations . This change experience should be demonstrable via specific program leadership of post-merger integration, divestments, footprint and/or organizations changes, or programs of similar transformational character.
  • Business and financial management skills sufficient to develop complex cross-organization business cases and present to varying levels of management. Work experience in R&D performance management and cost management is helpful but not required.
  • Change and performance: Demonstrated work experience in successfully creating and deploying new ways-of-working and performance management frameworks , as shown through previous work experience in managing and deploying KPIs and continuously improving business outcomes.
  • Program management experience in managing multidisciplinary teams consisting of multiple parallel projects or workstreams. PMP certification preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with sensitivity to complex organizational structures, varying cultures, and potentially conflicting goals is critical. Demonstrated history of working in globally distributed and highly matrixed teams and interacting with executive / top management is required.
