Job Description for Product Owner
The primary goal in a Product Owner role is to represent the customer to the development team. A key activity is to manage and make visible the product backlog, or the prioritized list of requirements for future product development. In fact, the Product Owner is the only person who can change the order of items in the product backlog. One unusual aspect of Product Owner responsibilities is that you must be available to the development team at all times to answer any questions team members have regarding the customers view of how theyre implementing a product feature. - Bachelor degree in Engineering or any other relevant field
- 4 to 6 years of overall experience
- Previous working experience as a Product Owner of 3+ years
- In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
- Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Creative thinker with a vision
- Strong attention to details
- Excellent influencing skills

- Specific domain expertise(Analytics or Telecom) is an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Active Participation with Business Stakeholders to have constant updates on business priorities for features
- Define product vision, road-map and growth opportunities
- Providing vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
- Owns and Maintains the Product Backlog and make sure that the backlog is healthy and consistent in nature
- Research and analyse market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
- Should able to create user story map
- Follow our competitors and the industry
- Responsible for maximizing ROI and increasing value of the product for the customer
- Responsible for Product Backlog Refinement (Backlog Grooming) Meeting
- Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
- Define customer needs and the associated features to meet those needs
- Develops personas either alone or in conjunction with a team including user experience experts
- Take lead of scrum teams as the Product Owner
- Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on
- Collaborate with product architect and product marketing teams to translate business requirements into user stories for the development teams to implement
- Work with project managers and technical leads to determine scope and priorities for product development cycles
- Lead the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities
- Participates in the daily Scrums, Sprint Planning Meetings and Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives
- Advocates on behalf of the customer for the development team
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
- Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
- Prioritizes defect or bug resolution
- Inspects the product progress at the end of every Sprint and has complete authority to accept or reject work done
- Accepts/Rejects Development Work Results
- Work with a cross-functional team in planning a product release
- Decides Release Dates and to release working product into production when there is a value to customer
- Experience in wire frame building tools
