Staff Software Engineer (Azure DevOps) @ Blue Yonder

Responsibilities

Takes ownership of design and development of relevant product or product suite. Learns and adapts to applicable technologies, products, and tools. Demonstrates the ability to apply domain concepts in the solution and product suite. Becomes a subject matter expert in one or more product areas. Gains an in-depth understanding of the business requirements of the product.

Understands and analyzes business requirements and designs for accuracy and completeness. Produces initial technical design and recommend approaches. Ensures the designs meet the guidelines of Blue Yonder s architecture. Develops detailed designs with software architect, business analyst, and user experience designer. Identifies reusable components.

Develops and executes unit tests. Ensures that quality code is delivered for integration build and test. Follows standard development processes and coding standards. Identifies root cause and resolves software defects. Performs code reviews to ensure extensibility, re usability, and minimizes complexity. Implements performance benchmark tests. Optimizes the product to meet pre-defined performance benchmarks. Demonstrates problem solving and innovation. Plans and prioritizes own work. Proactively notifies lead or manager of impairments to commitments. Proactively seeks assistance as required. Mentors junior members of the team.

Skills Required

• Work closely with Engineering group to support implementation of cloud provisioning and deployment solutions.
• Design and implement continuous delivery pipelines that serve the purpose of provisioning and operating client test as well as production environments.
• Hands on experience in using build servers like Jenkins, Bamboo, Team City etc. (Jenkins preferred).
• Experience in implementing containerized solution using Docker, Kubernetes Service
• Experience in implementing service discovery and distributed configuration server using Consul, Eureka.
• Experience in implementing distributed tracing to troubleshoot the interactions between micro services using Zipkin or Jaeger.
• Experience of microservice production deployment using blue-green technique.
• Solid understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery best practices.
• In-depth understanding of compute, storage, network components including backup, monitoring and DR environment requirements.
• Has good experience with Azure/AWS/GCP Cloud, PaaS, IaaS, SaaS architecture from Technical and non-Technical perspectives.
• Enhancing application code and making recommendations to the dev team to ease application operationalization.
• Experience migrating systems to hybrid or fully cloud-based solutions.
• Designing application monitoring to detect and help resolve problems.
• Good to have experience of Java based microservice design and development.
• Working knowledge of application servers, servlet containers, and web servers.
• Working knowledge of databases like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB.
• Proficiency with messaging system like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure EventHub, Amazon Kinesis.
• Good knowledge of Java, Python, Shell Scripts, PowerShell, SQL.
• Good communication skills for a highly collaborative software development process.
• Excellent verbal communication, analytical skill and critical thinking.
