Lead Software Engineer - Backend Engineer @ AdviserLogic

The Role : This is a MS SQL Server DBA role responsible for providing operational and development database services to Direct/Office 3.x, CAM and Import. Some of the primary responsibilities of this role would include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, participation in database architecture, model, development deployment, responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with PO, PM, QA and developer teams to implement strategic solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design develop web and enterprise solutions to be flexible, scalable extensible.
• Improve complex data flow, data structures and db design to move to next platform.
• Enforce good agile practices like test driven development, Continuous Integration.
• Hands-on development will be an integral part of the responsibilities.
• Develop areas of continuous and automated deployment.
• Introduce and follow good development practices, innovative frameworks and technology solutions that help business move faster.
• Follow best practices like estimation, planning, reporting and improvement brought to processes in every day work.
• Analyses and reviews system requirements. Uses requirement and other design documents to gain overall understanding of the functionality of the new or enhanced application.
• Participate actively in the design, architecture and build phases, to aim at producing high quality deliverables.
• Provide recommendations on product and development environment improvements.

Requirements: These are the most important skills, qualities, etc. that we d like for this role.

• Minimum 8 Years of experience
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Very Strong knowledge of databases and hands on MS SQL/MySQL/PostgreSQL or NoSQL DB DynamoDB/MongoDB.
• Experience with building REST based APIs.
• Experience in analysis, design, coding and implementation of large-scale, n-tier Java based platforms.
• Knowledge of DevOps will be a plus.
• Be aware of activity in the open source world. Contributing back to open source is a big plus.
• Distributed computing, with experience in cloud computing (Amazon Web Services platform and associated technologies)
• Experience on agile practices
• Experience with modern development practices in areas of Product design, Requirement Analysis, Test Driven Development, Automation Unit Testing, in a product development environment.
• Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.

Good to Have:

• Machine Learning knowledge.
• Exposure to Capital Market domain preferred (Indexes, Equity etc.)
