Sr. Lead Cloud Engineering - Hyderabad @ Reuters

About the Role - In this opportunity as a Sr. Lead you will:

• Be a People Leader : build and manage a team of software and systems engineers with varied skills and experience levels. Coach and mentor current and future leaders within the team, be responsible to proactively identify individual training needs, conduct performance reviews and maintain a healthy team culture
• Be a Project Leader: train/coach team members in project delivery. Plan, design and implement services to deliver value to customers
• Be an efficient Stakeholder Manager : experience in collaborating and engaging with external and internal stakeholders such as business teams, product owners, project management in defining roadmap for products and processes. Act as point of contact in resolving stakeholder issues
• Be an effective Communicator : ability to lead with influence and demonstrate effective communication skills to clearly state priorities and provide direction. Ability to present complex technical information in clear and easy to understand manner to various audience
• Be a Decision Maker : ability to make quick and effective data driven decisions. Possess good problem solving and analytical skills to infer qualitative and quantitative data, and roll out strategies that align with company goals. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Technical know-how: strong understanding of both software and service design and lifecycle, object-oriented software design, implementation, testing and release. Experience working in an agile framework and an advocate for agility within the team and with stakeholders
• Focus on Continuous improvement and technical standards drive improvements in productivity, architecture for software development, prepare technical specifications and set industry best practices.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of experience in software development with either .net or Java/ JEE technologies
• Experience building out on AWS architecture and/or migrating to AWS.
• Knowledge on securing and hardening AWS environments
• Experience of creating scalable software solutions
• Experience delivering revenue-generating technology with high-availability requirements. Worked with heterogeneous solutions where different services have different technology stacks
• Used to working with small, frequent deployments.
• Able to explain technical concepts to business people.
• Preference for Amazon or Microsoft Azure cloud certifications.

Education

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline is preferred but relevant experience is most important.

Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience and deep knowledge in programming languages, software engineering, API development and development processes.
• Have skills with cloud service providers Amazon or Azure and are familiar with technologies such as ec2, serverless, lamba, Azure VMs, and AMIs.
• Have expertise in driving technology strategy and execution, while establishing strategic partnerships and delivering against product requirements
• Are an effective communicator with relevant experience leading and influencing others
• Understand agile principles and have a proven track record of project delivery following agile development methods and applying best practices
• Demonstrate an ability to partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Possess strong knowledge of current technologies, with proficiency in the areas of automation, DevOps, cloud native architecture, and system monitoring
