The Sourcing Engineer plays a critical role in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies to meet direct and/or indirect material needs throughout the product Life Cycle. Responsible for sourcing components and finished goods globally while optimizing cost, delivery, quality, and risk. Analyzes legacy product sourcing and engages early in new product development projects to ensure an effective, flexible, and quality supply base. Leads productivity, risk reduction, improvement, and negotiation activities within the supply base for assigned commodities. The Sourcing Engineer is a highly visible matrixed role in the organization that requires a strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of sourcing concepts/tools.
Responsible for supplier development and corrective actions. Supports the manufacturing process by ensuring commodities used in producing products are readily available, meet quality requirements, and are cost efficient. Evaluates supplier capabilities to ensure production output can meet the company demand in both normal and abnormal supply conditions (i.e. multiple sourcing, geographic diversity). Works with other quality functions to audit suppliers as appropriate to ensure performance to the company quality objectives.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the definition and execution of sourcing strategy for assigned materials.
- Collaborate with functional teams and peers to ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials while optimizing cost, lead-time, and quality.
- Oversees the Supplier Relationship Management process for critical suppliers, with focus on sustainable improvements in cost, on-time delivery, pay terms, and quality.
- Identify new sources and establish strong and lasting supplier relationships that enable business growth.
- Leads overall engineering and customer feedback analysis processes for supplier products; communicates and collaborates with management, internal, and outsourced suppliers, manufacturing, and development partners to develop and implement changes to product or process to reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs.
- Drives innovation and integration of new supplier technologies and company quality initiatives into product design and manufacturing.
- Lead negotiation efforts, including agreements/contracts for critical suppliers.
- Analyze proposals and negotiate best price, service, and delivery terms for products and services.
- Document and improve Sourcing processes and methods.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent. (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience)
- 2-6 years of relevant experience in Sourcing of IT Hardware components.
- Conducting reviews of material specifications and hardware and electrical component design and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to effectively communicate procurement architectures, plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
- Demonstrated strength in data analytics and process improvement skills
- Sound knowledge of sourcing processes and experience leading contract negotiations
- Clear, energetic, and engaging presentation and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Extensive experience with contract development and vendor management
