Senior Software Engineer - Chennai - Walmart

As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will work on everything from internal customer-facing web applications using cutting-edge open source frameworks, to highly available RESTful cloud services, to back-end systems powered by rest API and Microsoft cloud. You ll bring solid experience in emerging and traditional full stack technologies such as Sprint Boot, RESTful Web Services,JavaScript, Microservices and DevOps mindset to name a few.

What You ll Do:

• Design Develop applications services for our privacy platform
• Perform complex large scale application development, maintenance in Java/Springboot.
• Write unit test cases.
• Assure on non-functional requirements like scalability, reliability, maintainability, availability of the solution developed
• Publish subscribe to events from a queue, cache where required.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Designers, and other developers on different permutations to find the best solution possible.
• Find ways to improve upon the existing components, making them more easily consumable and more performant.
• Ensure distribution and consumption of components is operating like a well-oiled machine.
• Ideate on and create platform tooling that improves our process and/or improves the developer experience for consumers.
• Perform engineering activities for performance tuning and deep monitoring of applications and services
• Work with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of the system, determine the priority of work, and ensure integrated end-to-end design and delivery
• Leverage DevOps practices for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment

Your Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or Master s Degree with 6-12 years of experience in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with ORM frameworks, mainly Hibernate.
• Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE technologies and Java Application Server
• Hands on experience in implementing REST APIs.
• Experience with build tools - Maven/ Gradle.
• Experience in writing test code - Junit5 and Mockito.
• Proficiency working in Linux/unix environments
• Strong understanding of OOPS concepts, Data Structures Design Patterns
• Proficiency in GIT and other versioning tools
• DB experience and interacts with SQL No-SQL databases.
• Good to know data processing pipelines using Flink / Spark / Kafka Able to design modular, reusable components and Apply best practices
• Experience in Cloud Technologies viz. Azure / GCP
• Experience in Agile Development environment
• Knowledge of front-end technologies would be a plus.
• Working knowledge of Continuous Integration (DevOps) and relevant tools such as Jenkins)
• Solid Experience in developing scalable Event driven applications.
• Good to have: worked on containerised ecosystems (Kubernetes, Docker)
