Positions: Engineer / Sr Engineer Proto & Pilot (Li-Ion Technology / Battery Pack)

Exp:2-5 yrs

Qualification- BE (Mechatronics / Electronics & Communication) or MTech/ME - Mechatronics

Reporting to: Head Proto & Pilot

Job Purpose:
Asst Manager Proto and Pilot to assist development of PoC (Proof of Concept), functional Prototypes (in a smaller qty.) and Pilot lot of Li-Ion battery pack which is very close to the actual production design

Job description:

For this position, experience in following domains is crucial:
Mechanical: knowledge of different materials, tools and production methods, welding technology, sheet metal fabrication etc.
Electrical: Understanding of low voltage electrical designs and corresponding electrical drawings component selection electrical lay-out etc.

You will be responsible for a selection of projects.
Creativity and intelligent integration of technologies, materials and concepts is of crucial importance for the function of this role as battery assemblies need to be very compact and volume efficient. Design for Manufacturing is of great importance in this function.
He / she is going to play crucial role for the development of Proof of concepts (PoC), fully functional prototypes and running the pilot production line of Li Ion battery pack which is very close to the production design. Close co-ordination with R & D team and responsible for the execution activities for the product development.

He / She will receive initial design documentation and BOM, and use them to build PoC or prototypes. During the proto and pilot development, ensure product design to meet DFM, DFA and DFS.
Small series, pilot series or products with customization will also be executed by this department.
After producing the parts they will be handed over to the product validation team.

Function Criteria
Knowledge and experience
Looking for at least 1 year experience in Li Ion battery domain out of overall 2-5 years of experience
Build proof of concept, functional proto and production ready pilot product
Ability to understand and execute mechanical, electrical designs and production drawings
Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
Strong documentation and writing skills to relay required design improvements to RnD.
Handiness as required for this part of product development and pilot production

Internal: He / She will have contact with all departments, but mainly with the R&D, purchase and manufacturing department.
External: This position requires regular contact with suppliers and subcontractors. The prototype specialist will consult suppliers for technical discussion, production possibilities, and design optimization.
