Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the catering operation and communicate ideas to the Unit Manager
- Maintain the operation in relation to food control, service standards and associated administration
- Supervise staff to ensure compliance with required Company standards
- Ensure on-site training and induction of new staff members
- Implement and monitor HACCP and workplace safety requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Maintain all merchandising
- Ensure effective stock control and rotation
- Deal effectively with customer complaints
- Act upon any damaged or faulty equipment
- Keep watch over portion control and wastage
- Actively monitor complaints and to administer unfit food reports, alleged food poisoning and supplier appraisal forms
- Assist in the completion of all relevant Company paperwork, MIS
- Actively pursue and achieve budget target
- Ensure security and maintenance of premises, equipment and stock
- Effectively lead, develop and motivate team, monitoring and solving issues as they arise within the contract
- Ensure that all food items that leave the kitchen are of a high standard in presentation and content to the Sodexo standards
- Formulate menus in line with Client and Sodexo expectations

Key Competencies:
- Experience in a high pressure catering environment, preferably in a commercial or industrial environment including:
- Experience in menu planning and production
- Experience in or exposure to bulk cooking
- Customer service experience
- Display initiative, creativity, innovation and a desire to excel
- Capable of prioritizing work and exercising discretion within established policies, guidelines and procedures and able to work with a substantial level of accountability
- Computer and arithmetic skills and well developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Well groomed and able to represent Sodexo in a professional manner
- Organized and self motivated , Leadership and team building abilities
- Assertive and Customer Service Orientation
