Job Description
smartShift Technologies is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team in India .
- Develop automation code to deploy and maintain systems and applications using application orchestration software
- Work with development teams to identify and implement automation in appropriate areas
- Coordinate with vendor for DevOps related issues and follow up on enhancement requests
- Experience with Software/DevOps upgrade to be able to resolve any associated challenges during upgrades
- Interact with customer contacts and colleagues, elicit requirements, plan deliverables accordingly
- Continuously share knowledge with team members
- Create metrics to measure project delivery effectiveness and evangelize with team and customer contacts
- Develop inter personal relations with colleagues and practice open communication with team members across offices
- Publish whitepapers/blogs focused on DevOps tools/technologies and share with team members
- Be the cloud/DevOps champion by continuously learning new technologies and identifying technical areas for smartShift to invest in, to stay ahead in the market
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps
- Must have experience in container-based deployments using Docker images, Docker Hub and Docker registries and Kubernetes
- Must have experience in configuring Log monitoring tools like Splunk to monitor logs
- Must have experience in branching, tagging and maintaining the version across the environments using SCM tools like GIT and Bit bucket
- Must have experience in Jenkins for continuous integration (CI) and for End to End automation for all build and deployments
- Must have experience in working on AWS and its services like IAM, VPC, EC2, EBS, RDS, S3, ELB, Auto Scaling, Cloud Watch, SNS and experience in Cloud automation using AWS Cloud Formation templates to create customized VPC, subnets, NAT, EC2 instances, ELB and Security groups
- Should possess strong problem solving and analytical skills; consistent incorporation of best practices and standards in delivery
- Experience working with Harness tool for Continuous delivery is desirable
- Experience in Terraform is desirable
- Knowledge of using groovy for creating Jenkins files is desirable
- Experience in configuring build tools like Ant, Maven etc..is desirable
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) interpersonal skills able to influence customer stakeholders
- Eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies/new concepts
- BE/MCA or equivalent
- 5+ years of software industry experience
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification preferred
