s - ServicesData Quality Analyst / Metadata Analyst
The Data Quality Analyst / Metadata Analyst role will take responsibility for providing analysis support for
onboarding and harmonizing new data into their master data domain, developing reports, and
troubleshooting and facilitating resolution of data issues, both technical and business in nature.
Responsibilities
Experience: 4-8 years of experience in Data Quality Analyst role.
- Performs data profiling and analysis of incoming data sources in scope for the MDM project and prepare reports of findings to share with MDM program and project team members.
- Identifies and tracks data quality issues that adversely affect either data integration or data reporting and analytics, conduct impact analysis activities, and recommend actions to mitigate risk to project or solution goals.
- Works with client stakeholder groups, such as Data Governance, Data Quality and Enterprise Data
- Architecture to escalate any issues of global (corporate-wide) significance.
- Creates and maintains data mappings between data sources and the MDM platform, to include data transformation rules
- Determines business rules for matching incoming data into the MDM platform for various domains.
- Coordinates match && review activities for initial loads of data during MDM development prior to go- live
- Manages reference data sets and update the global reference code repository
- Recommends, organizes, and facilitates sessions to create data standards for shared data definitions and common reference codes.
- Supports test data preparation activities, ensuring test data is relevant, representative and complies with client security / compliance restrictions
Key Abilities
- Ability to profile data from multiple sources and prepare profiling reports
- Ability to analyze profiling results and assess the quality of the data
- Ability to prepare and present data quality assessment results
- Ability to classify data quality defects and track their progress until resolution.
- Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks of data quality issues and prepare remediation plans
- Ability to read and understand conceptual, logical and physical data models
- Ability to map source data schemas to target schemas at both the table and column levels
- Ability to map source and target code sets and create cross-reference tables
- Ability to use data prep tools to determine matching rules and weightings
Core Skills
- Knowledge of reference data management, hierarchy management and code value standardization
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience using data record matching and deduplication techniques
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, charts and graphs, and advanced formulas.
