Job Description
NOC Technician - L2 (network operations center )
Job Location: Hyderabad OR Bangalore Only
The L2 Engineer will coordinate the processes and activities that focus on restoring service after an incident occurs, monitor customer environment health and the facilitation of high severity incidents for immediate resolution. Responsible for providing technical direction to junior engineers.
Job Qualifications:
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- 3+ years of extensive network, server and router experience at a high level, internet, and server platforms
- Experience supporting DNS, DHCP, routing, servers, clients, browsers, and email applications
- Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco/Juniper network hardware and software in Layer-2 and Layer-3 data network platforms
- 3+ years experience supporting Unified Communications systems, including issue resolution and MAC+D
- 3+ years of monitoring experience utilizing SolarWinds and other vendor network notification tools
- Effective verbal / written communications skills and the ability to explain and document technical activities
- Ability to create, edit and propose network improvement diagrams
- Ability to track and document multiple network and telecommunications events accurately
- Ability to interact successfully with a wide variety of business, operating, and technical staff
- Excellent customer communication and time management skills
- Must have strong relationship building/management skill
- Ability to work late shifts and some weekends on a set rotation
- Knowledge of ITSM concepts ITIL Certification is an asset
Education and experience
Associate degree in telecommunications or related field or equivalent training/educating required. 3-5 years experience required
- Intermediate MS Office Skills
- Other Microsoft Office tools: PowerPoint/ Word
- Knowledge of network and application architecture
