Job Description
- We are looking for a skilled Fresher MySQL / SQL Database Developer (0-01yr) to design, develop, and optimize SQL-based databases. The ideal candidate will have experience with MySQL and other relational database management systems, alongside a strong understanding of database architecture, performance optimization, and data management techniques. Location : IT Park Chandigarh Key Responsibilities: Database Design & Architecture: Design and implement efficient database systems for applications. Create, modify, and optimize database schemas based on business requirements and best practices. SQL Development: Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers for data manipulation and reporting. Ensure queries are optimized for performance and scalability. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of databases using indexing, query optimization, and tuning techniques. Implement solutions to minimize bottlenecks and enhance query performance. Database Security: Implement security measures to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality. Manage user access and privileges to ensure secure database operations. Backup and Recovery: Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies. Ensure data availability and integrity through scheduled backups and emergency recovery processes. Data Migration and Integration: Assist in data migration tasks, including the transfer of data between different databases or systems. Integrate databases with third-party applications as required. Database Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, such as updating indexes, optimizing tables, and resolving issues related to database integrity, performance, and availability. Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing database support by troubleshooting and resolving issues related to data access, database crashes, or slow performance. Documentation: Document database designs, processes, procedures, and policies. Create and maintain accurate technical documentation for all database systems. Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, data analysts, and system administrators to ensure seamless integration of databases with applications and services. Skills & Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Technical Skills: SQL: Strong command of SQL (Structured Query Language) for writing complex queries, joins, and subqueries. MySQL or SQL Server: Hands-on experience with MySQL, MS SQL Server, or similar RDBMS systems. Database Design: Experience in designing database schemas, tables, relationships, and constraints. Stored Procedures & Triggers: Experience writing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and triggers. Database Optimization: Understanding of indexing strategies, query optimization, and database tuning. Backup & Recovery: Familiarity with database backup strategies, recovery techniques, and high-availability architectures. Data Modeling: Knowledge of data modeling concepts, ER diagrams, and normalization techniques. Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing scripts and changes. Soft Skills: Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Attention to Detail: A keen eye for identifying issues related to data integrity, performance, and security. Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills for documentation and collaboration with teams. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Preferred Skills (Optional but advantageous): NoSQL Databases: Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, or similar. Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud database management on platforms like AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure SQL Database. Big Data Technologies: Basic understanding of Big Data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or others for large-scale data processing. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load): Experience working with ETL tools or processes. Scripting Languages: Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash for automation tasks.
