- Job Overview We're looking for an adept Head of Software Engineering with a proven track record in SaaS. You will lead a group of skilled and passionate developers and QA and provide the team with excellent technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching. You will also interact closely with all stakeholders to shape requirements and design and architect-delivered features. Responsibilities Provide Technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching for the developers on the team. Build a team of hard-working software engineers applying your experience screening, interviewing, and growing a development team. You will be responsible for hiring, coaching, and mentoring a team of software and quality engineers. The goal is to build a cohesive, autonomous team that can work through technical, schedule, and interpersonal challenges. Manage the entire tech stack and flow, including cybersecurity, API performance across all applications, automation testing, and data quality. Maintain code updated and optimized with the latest versions and regular code reviews. Participate in and lead design and architecture reviews, handle production incidents, and perform code reviews. Help build and maintain a high standard of engineering processes and best practices. Ensure that the overall architecture meets strategic objectives and roadmaps. Use agile software development practices to ensure ongoing quality improvement of products and processes. Ensure your team delivers high-quality solutions on time, with technical integrity and stability, and continuously innovates to improve engineering efficiency. Participating in multi-functional coordination, planning, and reviews with leads from other engineering teams Ensuring that technological resources meet the company's short and long-term needs. Manages multiple scrum teams effectively to deliver roadmap items. Strategize around tech and business goals. Keeping the team motivated, encouraging continuous learning, and working with the Head of People to drive Woliba culture. Manage DevOps processes and server architecture, ensuring robust infrastructure, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and efficient server management practices. Manage the web, and mobile (Android/iOS) development teams, ensuring work is aligned with backend systems and architecture, and that all components are delivered in sync. Requirements 12+ years working in a technological role. 7+ years of managerial experience and growing technology teams Expert in PHP, Laravel, NodeJS, MYSQL, MongoDB, React, CSS and HTML Experience in technology mitigation for Backend, Frontend, and Mobile. Experience in understanding third-party API documentation and integrations BS or MS in computer science or related field. Experience working in startups or other early-stage environments to build teams and scalable systems to be best in class. 2+ years of SaaS experience building and scaling products. Exceptional team management and communication skills with the ability to set up scalable systems with tools such as Asana for project management. Experience in Bugs/Security monitoring tools like Sentry, conducting code, audits, and using tools like Codacy. Ability to lead by example in areas including writing code, code review, and coaching. Strong understanding of SQL table relations, Data caching, and query optimizations. Strong knowledge of different design patterns and cloud architecture. Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future. Experience with AI, ML, and Data Science is a huge plus. Nice to have skills Reviewing and managing audits, including SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO. Experience in AWS and DevOps Solid understanding and proficiency in data architecture and system architecture are essential.
