About the role Name of the position: Metal & Polymer Specialist Educational Qualification: B.Tech/M.Tech Materials engineering/Polymer science Position Description: Metal & Polymer material expert Roles & Responsibilities: 1) Selection of right material & process for Metals, plastic, rubber, adhesive, foam, gaskets for 2W & 3W compoments for ICE & Electric vehicles. 2) Work on new technology projects in the area of metal, polymer, composites & Paints. Should interact with various suppliers & research institutes for exploration of new technology ideas. 3) Metal & Polymer parts testing & clearance using Material characterization techniques( e.g - Hardness tester, FTIR, DSC, TGA, XRD, SEM/EDS etc) & mechanical testing(e.g. tensile, compressive, shear & peal strength measurement) for all new products. Failure analysis of metal & polymer parts to identify the root cause.(ICE & EV) 4) Knowledge of metal heat treatment processes and corrosion protection requirement. 5) Coordinate with design teams to collect exact mateial requirements to ensure first time right quality of developed part. 6) Prepare the reports for new product development & failure analysis. 7) Work on retained newness of polymer painted & unpainted parts to improve the asthetics of vehicles 8) Prepare and release the metal & polymer material & process standards,generate metal & polymer material properties as per the requirement. 9) Generate & implement the cost reduction ideas.
