Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Recruiter to join our team, specializing in the recruitment
of maritime professionals for deck and technical ranks. This role involves sourcing, screening,
and hiring qualified candidates to meet the technical and operational needs of the maritime
industry.
The Technical Recruiter will act as subject matter experts for talent Acquisition, assessment and
onboarding ensuring Carnival UK stay in line with industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Source, screen, and recruit candidates for deck and technical maritime positions (e.g.,
Marine Engineers, Officers, Ratings and Technicians).
Collaborate with hiring managers to understand specific recruitment requirements.
Providing a professional resourcing and onboarding service to operational area through building
sustainable, strong business relationships with key stakeholders
Uses market knowledge to help identify suitable backgrounds for potential candidates and
advise on the most effective attraction strategy.
Manages the service delivery for the end to end resourcing process, taking ownership and
accountability and ensures this is done within set SLAs and KPIS.
Utilize job boards, maritime networks, and social media platforms to attract top talent.
Identifying the most appropriate, cost effective & innovative attraction & direct sourcing methods
to deliver
Conduct interviews and technical assessments to evaluate candidate competencies.
Ensure that the quality of resourcing and onboarding is in line with expected outcomes and
supports our employee value proposition and considers diversity and inclusion.
Maintain an up-to-date database of qualified candidates and Create talent pools of suitable
candidates ensuring regular contact with them and that they have a good understanding of the
recruitment process. s.
Ensure compliance with maritime industry standards and regulations during recruitment.
Build and maintain relationships with maritime training institutions and industry
professionals.
Provide regular status reports on recruitment efforts and progress.
Analyse results & delivery of attraction methods and adapts strategy accordingly, when
necessary.
Keeps up to date on innovative and leading resourcing practices/methods.
Identifies areas for development and makes recommendation for improvement
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a recruiter, preferably in the maritime industry.
Strong understanding of maritime deck and technical roles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to assess technical qualifications and industry-specific certifications.
Familiarity with maritime recruitment platforms and databases.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of international maritime regulations and certifications is advantageous a plus.
Proven experience of stakeholder management
Preferred Experience:
Should have sailed on cruise/ships in capacity of 3rd or 4th Engineer
Experience in a fast-paced recruitment environment, multi tasking multiple recruitment
campaigns .
Network with maritime professionals and organizations.
Previous experience in recruiting for specialized technical roles.
Previous experience with assessment days and trade testing
