HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Responsibilities
Looking for a Senior Engineer (Middleware & Unix) who will be the vital link between our information technology capacity and our business objectives by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of analytical, building, testing and deployment tasks of our software solutions that include home grown & 3rd party.
The candidate should be a self-learner and should exhibit professionalism. The candidate should be able to work independently and work under aggressive deadlines
Key Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibility :
- Design and implement cost effective, high quality web applications to meet/exceed customer needs.
- Interface with developers to obtain a full understanding of the project requirements to recommend the appropriate technology to accomplish the requirements.
- Day to day activity includes deploying changes to different customer environments viz dev, staging, production and DR.
- Working on incidents / requests / changes that come for Web/ Middleware applications.
- This includes Incident and Problem Management i.e. doing Root Cause Investigation, fixing problems and providing workarounds as well as permanent fix.
- Apart from middleware technologies, the job also requires taking care of SSL certificate installation, SSL renewal, domain renewals.
- Work on Project activities which include installation and configuration of new applications, servers and migration activities.
- Provide project timeline estimates. Monitor actual deliverable deadlines against scheduled completion dates.
- Participate in all phases of Software Development Lifecycle.
Interacting with System and Storage Teams to perform back-up and recovery procedures. - Perform capacity planning and performance tuning to prevent issues and minimize service disruptions.
- Adding or removing servers from existing platform and communication with internal stakeholders.
- Resolve security issues in a timely manner.
- Compile and maintain all systems and operational documentation.
- Compile and maintain daily, weekly, monthly yearly processes and procedures.
- Ability to be self-directed, able to focus on personal assignments while remaining part of a larger team with proven ability to multi-task.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO WIN:
8+ years' experience in RedHat Linux administration strongly desired.
8+ Years' experience in Apache Web Server (must have)
8+ years' experience with Java Application Servers such as Tomcat, ColdFusion (must have)
8+ years' experience with JBOSS, WebSphere (nice to have)
Installation, Configuration, Administration of Tom Cat, ColdFusion on Linux OS (must have).
SVN (must have)
ColdFusion (nice to have)
Experience in deploying applications on Tomcat and Cold Fusion middleware platforms (must have)
JRun / Jboss/WebSphere (nice to have)
Scripting Shell/Perl (nice to have)
Monitoring tools (nice to have)
Web Proxy, clustering, Load balancing understanding(nice to have)
Troubleshooting/problem solving skills (must have)
Apache ANT (nice to have)
Firewalls/IPTABLES (nice to have)
PKI/GPG (nice to have)
Java development (nice to have)
DB administration (nice to have)
ITIL v3 Foundation (nice to have)
2+ years IT supervision or equivalent (Preferred)
Good written and verbal communication skills
