- Job Description: VMware Architect (VCF, NSX, vCenter, vSAN) Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled VMware Architect with expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), NSX, vCenter, and vSAN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing VMware-based solutions to support enterprise-level virtualization, networking, and storage needs. This role involves working closely with infrastructure teams, business stakeholders, and cloud architects to ensure high availability, security, and scalability of VMware environments. Key Responsibilities: Design & Architecture: Architect and design end-to-end VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solutions, including vSphere, NSX-T, vSAN, and vCenter. Develop high-level and low-level designs for VMware-based infrastructure. Ensure VMware solutions align with business requirements, security policies, and industry best practices. Implementation & Administration: Deploy and configure VMware NSX (NSX-T/NSX-V) for network virtualization and micro-segmentation. Implement and optimize vSAN for hyper-converged infrastructure solutions. Manage and administer vCenter Server for virtualization management and automation. Oversee the deployment and integration of VMware components in hybrid/multi-cloud environments. Performance & Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and fine-tune VMware infrastructure for high performance and availability. Optimize vSAN storage policies for efficient data management and disaster recovery. Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and implement corrective measures. Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices in NSX, ensuring micro-segmentation and zero-trust policies. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, security frameworks, and organizational policies. Configure role-based access controls (RBAC) and multi-tenancy in VMware environments. Automation & Scripting: Leverage PowerCLI, vRealize Automation (vRA), and Terraform for automation and infrastructure as code (IaC). Develop scripts and workflows to streamline deployments, backups, and monitoring. Collaboration & Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network, storage, and security teams. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and system administrators. Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for VMware-related issues. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in VMware infrastructure design, implementation, and management. Deep expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), NSX-T/NSX-V, vSAN, and vCenter. Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi, vSphere, and vRealize Suite (vROps, vRA, vRNI). Strong knowledge of networking concepts (BGP, VLANs, VXLAN, firewalls, load balancing). Experience with PowerCLI, Python, Ansible, or Terraform for automation. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud architectures. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VCIX, or VCDX certification. Experience with Kubernetes (Tanzu) and software-defined data centers (SDDC). Knowledge of disaster recovery solutions like VMware SRM (Site Recovery Manager). Experience in integrating VMware solutions with DevOps pipelines.
