- About The incumbent would be responsible for driving predominantly the execution of all indirect tax (VAT/CST/GST) compliances in a timely and efficient manner for Beam Suntory India. This role provides a very good opportunity to work in a highly complex and regulated environment of alcoholic beverages sector which still has a dual regime of taxation i.e. VAT/CST as well as GST. The incumbent will have a lot of opportunities to drive and lead process efficiencies projects to manage compliances in a more effective and efficient way. Roles & Responsibilities Responsible for executing all indirect tax (Sales Tax - VAT and CST, GST etc.). compliances accurately and on timely basis after ensuring necessary internal approvals have been obtained. Liasoning with various tax advisors, finance team as well as other functional teams as required to ensure timely compliances. Assisting with tax process improvement initiatives around compliances. Assisting with internal as well as statutory reporting requirements with respect to indirect taxes Providing ad-hoc assistance on all indirect tax (Sales Tax - VAT and CST, GST etc.) advisory and litigation matters, as needed. Providing ad-hoc assistance on any important projects, as required. Providing need-based training/ updates to Finance teams on matters related to indirect taxes. Quantitative Parameters Timely closure of month end/ quarter end/ year end indirect tax compliances. Maintaining an upto date indirect tax compliance tracker. Accurate and timely submission of internal requirements for financial reporting. Qualitative Parameters Driving outcomes with the Finance team and other concerned stakeholders. Information sharing and communication with all relevant stakeholders. Compliance with company policy/ SOPs. Support audit/ compliance team. Qualifications Chartered Accountant with 2-4 years" experience in MNC /Big 4. Broad-based tax experience with good knowledge of indirect taxes. Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP software. Good in excel/word/power point. Strong communication skills. Knowledge of tax accounting is a must. Key Skills & Competencies Sound tax technical ability and application skills to bring out efficiencies in standard SOPs Ability to prioritize matters and drive outcomes in a team environment. Problem solving and value-added mindset. Sociable and strong relationship management skills. Strong excel and financial systems skills. Flexible to move internally as per business needs.
