Job Description
- Company:Global Banking Organization Key Skills: PostgreSQL, Administration, DB Migrations, Oracle, Scripting, AWS Roles and Responsibilities: Develop and implement core infrastructure technologies, products, and services to meet customer and non-functional requirements. Ensure infrastructure technology complies with security, availability, resilience, performance, and capacity standards. Produce and manage infrastructure roadmaps, detailing lifecycles of technology from new products and versions through to end of support and retirement. Provide operational support to infrastructure teams for major incidents or complex technical issues. Participate in disaster recovery exercises to fulfill business continuity requirements. Administer PostgreSQL databases, including configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Manage database migrations from Oracle to PostgreSQL, ensuring smooth transitions. Develop and execute scripts for database automation and management. Leverage AWS cloud technologies to enhance database performance and scalability. Build and leverage relationships with colleagues across the bank to ensure decisions are commercially focused and create long-term value. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management, providing insights based on data and cost analysis. Work closely with third parties to assure quality of their output and manage performance. Contribute to infrastructure strategies and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with Chief Technology Office (CTO) strategic targets and architecture outcomes. Relate daily work to the strategic vision of the feature team, platform, and domain. Demonstrate understanding of DevOps principles, including collaboration, automation, and tooling. Apply Agile methodologies and toolsets in daily operations, working effectively within Agile teams. Skills Required: Minimum of 7 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on PostgreSQL. Experience in migrating databases from Oracle to PostgreSQL. Proficiency in scripting and cloud technologies (AWS). Background in working with complex, multi-disciplined matrix teams. Strong understanding of PostgreSQL administration and database migrations. Proficiency in scripting for database automation and management. Knowledge of cloud databases and AWS services. Experience with Oracle to PostgreSQL migration processes. Excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts. Effective stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. Education: Bachelor's Degree/ Master's Degree in related field,
