About The Position We are a powerful IT organization with eyes on the future trends of the shipping industry. Our Fleet IT team continuously develops and operates the IT platforms and systems supporting vessel and network operations. This ranges from on-board IT and communications systems to global stowage planning and monitoring of cargo operations. With our IT systems, we help reduce CO2 emissions by continuously optimizing our fleet and cargo operations. For our offices in Chennai we are looking for an Engineering Manager who will lead the CargoMate Product Team (5 FTE) which is part of our global Fleet IT team. The CargoMate Product Team is responsible for operations and further development of Hapag-Lloyds CargoMate software. CargoMate provides a port call optimization system for container ships. It monitors cargo operations directly from vessels, giving shore-based teams access to live forecasting of cargo completion times. It helps to keep vessels on schedule and to reduce fuel consumption and emissions in ports. The solution entails mobile and web front-ends, a backend and integration with other software solutions. Responsibilities and Tasks: You ensure stable operations and continuous development of the CargoMate product in line with business needs. You facilitate the development process and help the team achieve their goals. You set project objectives and priorities, coordinate work among team members, and help to resolve technical issues that may arise. You are responsible for helping the team to identify and remove any obstacles or impediments (technical, architecture, feature, business) that may be hindering their progress. You work with product owners and other stakeholders to resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise. You are responsible for helping the team to continually improve their processes and practices, and for facilitating regular retrospectives to identify areas for improvement. You provide leadership and support to the team, helping them to deliver high-quality software product efficiently and effectively. You engage with other Business and IT teams around the globe. You are part of the global Fleet IT team and you manage and prioritize your tasks and workload in alignment with the Director Fleet IT.You develop self and talented individuals by matching growth opportunities with personal interests. Requirements And Qualifications Experience: 8 11 years Skill Sets AWS RDS (PostGreSQL), BeanStalk, EC2, ECS, ELB, SES Microservices Architecture, EDA Java, ReactJS, Spring Boot, Microprofile EE.
